Jailbreak: Download/Execute BlackRa1n, click the logo of your OS to download. May want to install Cydia via BlackRa1n app.

Unlock: Install Sn0w via blackra1n app.

Tether: Unlock device, go to http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether.mobileconfig on iphone and tap install.

If Issues with WiFi, GPS, or YouTube come up after unlocking with Blacksn0w. Go to Settings > General > Reset> and hit “Reset Network Settings”. Once that’s complete, do a hard power cycle by holding the sleep/home button for a few seconds and then sliding the on-screen power toggle.

1. Open Up iTunes & Audacity.
2. Find the song you wish to use in iTunes and right click and select “Show in…”
3. This will show you where the actual file is, drag that into Audacity.
4. Highlight about 30 seconds of the song you wish to use as a ring tone.
5. Copy the selection by going to Edit > Copy
6. Create a New File: File > New
7. Paste your selection: Edit > Paste
8. Optional: You may want to fade the ringtone in and/or out.  To do this highlight the first or last 5 seconds of the song and go to Tools > Fade in(or fade out).
9. Export this song as a M4A.
10. Go to where you saved this song and rename the files extension(.m4a) to a .m4r.
11. Double click the file and it should play it in iTunes and store it in your ringtones section.

If you are presented with a “cannot find library” type error message when exporting:

1. Either go to Audacity> Preferences(mac) or File > Preferences(win).
2. Click on Libraries
3. Download the FFmpeg library (click button)
4. Follow the instructions on their website to install.

If you upgrade to 3.1 and still are getting those annoying “viewmymessage.com” messages instead of MMS Perform the following:

First we need to Enable IPCC Updates in iTunes

MAC OS X

1. Close iTunes
2. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
3. Run the command: defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Windows 32 Bit

1. Close iTunes
2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD
3. Run this command(If you right-click on the cmd window you can paste): “C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

Windows 64 Bit

1. Close iTunes
2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD
3. Run this command(If you right-click on the cmd window you can paste): “C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

Ok, so now we can enable MMS

1. Download the IPCC Package here.
2. Ensure your iPhone is plugged in and open iTunes.
3. On the iPhone tab hold alt and click update
4. Navigate to the IPCC file you downloaded and install it.
5. Reboot iPhone.  MMS Should now be enabled.

3. type: exiftool “path of photo here”
4. Record the GPS Latitude and Longitude location

The iPhone throws data in “Degrees Minutes Seconds” format, for google maps to show you will need to convert it into “Decimal Degrees”.   You can always use online tools to convert it into DD, or you can do it by hand:

DMS Example: X deg Y’ Z” N

DMS -> DD: X + Y/60 + Z/3600.  (North & East = positive, South & West = negative)

Once you have the DMS Coordinates just input that into google maps and see where it was taken!  If it shows you in another country, remember, North & East = Positive, South & West = Negative!

1. Update to 3.0.1 if you hav’nt already.
2. Find out the rev of your iphone (2G, 3G, or 3GS).
3. Download the appropriate firmware from here.  It will begin with your model and end in “3.0/7A341?
4. Launch Redsnow.
5. Click Browse
6. Locate the firmware that you downloaded.
7. Select both Cydia & Icy, Click Next
8. Plug your iDevice in.
9. Turn your iDevice off.
10. Click Next
11. Follow the on screen instructions exactly to put the iDevice in DFU mode. And it’s smooth sailing from here!

• PurpleRa1n(click windows logo to download)

Steps

1. Ensure iPhone is connected
2. Run PurpleRa1n, click “Make it ra1n”
• It will send your iphone into recovery
• Once it detects recovery it will display the image you see to the right
• If it is here more than 2 minutes, something wrong happened.  Either copy and paste purplera1n.log (located same directory as purplera1n) to our forums or email it to purplera1n.support[at]gmail[dot]com.
3. Open the “Freeze” app
4. Install Cydia
5. Restart iPhone
6. I highly recommend you to upgrade cydia once installed, just open it and go to changes and “upgrade all”
7. Optional: Unlock the iPhone 3GS

Things to Know:

• You are pay as you go, not a contract. Worse they can do is cancel your account not bill you an absurd amount of money and you can just open a new account!
• You can run out of money on your account but their terms will leave you active for up to 90 days. Terms:

How To:

1. Purchase a Tmobile sim card online here
2. Activate the SIM card as a Tmobile Sidekick Plan ($1 / day)
3. Get an iPhone 2G or 3G, sorry there is no way to unlock a 3GS yet.

6. Place your Tmobile sim card in the iPhone, by inserting a paperclip in the small hole in the top of your iPhone, a compartment will pop out with your current sim.

Updates

• People seem to be confused how it’s $10 for up to 3 months on a $1/day plan. When your account balance is $0, only your pay as you go features(voice/SMS) are effected. Data should remain working until your account is terminated. Tmobile may take this little “exploit” away once it becomes abused, however even if they did a buck a day sure beats AT&T’s price.

NOTE: This guide will not work for the iPhone 3GS

This guide will use redsn0w to jailbreak your iDevice, unfortunately the iPhone 3GS is not supported yet.  This will wipe all your data on the device, so please sync it with iTunes before you begin to back it all up.  Once Jail Broken you can run custom apps that the App Store denied and run pirated applications.

I know we did a guide a few days ago on Jailbreaking the iPhone, however that does not work on Windows or with the iTouch 2G.  This one will!

1. Find out the generation of your iDevice.

Copying the ipcc to your iPhone

4. Select the ipcc you downloaded earlier.
5. Restart your iPhone
