Have you ever made a Powerpoint but it didn’t really look or feel like your best work? Well thats probably because its not. Adding Youtube videos directly into your presentation will make it much more appeling to your viewers! Now to do this, first:
- Open Microsoft PowerPoint
- Go to View > Toolbars. From the Toolbars menu, choose “Control Toolbox”
- Choose the box that looks like two tools crossing each other. (it should be that last box)
- Scroll down until you find “Shockwave Flash Object”; select it. Then on your slide, click and drag to make a box. The box should have a black X in the middle.
- Open up your favorite internet browser and go to the video you want to put in your presentation.
- Copy the URL which will look something like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGPjB4qzUy8
- Take the “watch?v=FGPjB4qzUy8″ and simply change it to “watch/v/FGPjB4qzUy8″. (All I did was change the ? and = to a /)
- The final URL should look like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/FGPjB4qzUy8
- Copy the new URL and go back to your PowerPoint. Right click on the box you made earlier and select properties.
- Then find “movie” and click on the box across from that. Paste the new URL into that spot. Click the X to close that window.
- Finally, play your Powerpoint and the Youtube video will appear like magic!
*If you are wondering what all the other options around “movie” are for, leave a comment below and I will be sure to answer you!

Ok so your at school and you decide you want to do some quick coding or just mess around with your friends computer. You go to use your favorite program “notepad”, but you realize the admins of the school have removed it. All you have to do is open any browser (I prefer Firefox), right click, and select an option that says either “view page source” or “view source”. Notepad should open with a bunch of info on the web page your viewing. Just delete all of that, type whatever you want in the blank space, and save on your desktop. Now you will always have Notepad whenever you need it!

*Note: this only works if you have one of the old mice with a rubber ball inside*
Ok so your on your favorite website and you notice your mouse wont go where you want it to, or it just gets stuck every now and then. Well first check if you have a small rubber ball on the underside of the mouse; if you answered yes then your in luck! Usually the problem is dust collecting on the “wheels”. So all you have to do is take out the ball and pull out the dust/hair/whatever else that would collect on your mouse pad. Pop the ball back in and hopefully your mouse should be smooth and work like new!
