Jury Duty Tips
Posted by: deathshadow391 in Cool Tutorials, Other, tags: Jury Duty, Justice, USAMost voting Americans know that with the power to choose your president, comes the patriotic duty of jury duty. For most, its a huge pain. Having to go into court for multiple days and having your sechedule messed up by uncle sam. But, if your smart about it, you can cut down on the time spent in court using these easy tips.
- Dont go on your assigned date. When you get a date assigned, you have one week before and after to show up. If you show up on a date other than the one assigned to you, there is a chance you will not be called on.
- Show up on a Thursday. Courts don’t operate on fridays, therefore most people will not start there cases on thursday. Cases on Thursdays tend to drag on into the weekends so most lawyers will advise their clients to wait until Monday.
- If you are self employed, write a letter to the court telling them this. They will normally let you off jury duty. They know that you can’t pay yourself for jury service.
- If all else fails, tell them that you are biased. If they think that you are biased, the wont let you be a part of the jury. (Remember, justice is supposed to be blind)
