Google Exploit: Reveal the Identity of a Gmail Address
Posted by: ipp in Interesting & Fun, tags: Google, Security
Ever wonder who owned a Gmail address, or scare some kid you only talk to through email/Gtalk and don’t know his real name? Well currently there is a exploit using Google Calendars to reveal the identity of anyone! If this does not work it is probably patched, I don’t expect this to last too long.
- Log into Gmail
- Click on Calendars in the upper left
- Click on Settings in the upper right and navigate to the “Calendar” tab
- Click on a calendar and navigate to the “Share this Calendar” tab
- Enter their Gmail address under Share with Specific people
- Click Add person and Save
- It *may* ask if you want to invite the person to google calendars click “Don’t Invite”
- Now back under the sharing tab it should have their first and last name next to their email!
