Lawn Tips From The Ninja
Posted by java in Interesting & Fun, tags: DIY, Home & Garden, Summer
Its July and it is hot! You might not be suffering so bad in your air conditioned homes, but the real pain is a dying lawn! Lawn maintenance is one of a ninjas prime focuses during the summer months. You might think its the heat, and the only way to fix your lawn is with some watering, but you might actually be hurting it more than you think!
Lawn Tips
- Cut your grass higher than normal! Taller grass keeps the roots cool and helps to keep the moisture in the soil longer. (No lower than 3”!)
- Deeply soak your lawn when watering. A quick sprinkle is most often more harmful to your lawn! Just be sure you don’t deep soak your lawn too often or you could end up with drowned roots, fungi, and other problems!
- Pour a cheap can of beer on dog-browned spots. This works because beer has fermented sugar, which will restore life to the grass.
- Be sure to fertilize your lawn at least twice a year! This will keep it looking good! This is most often done during September and April / May.
- Remove excess lawn clippings after mowing your lawn. These can end up killing whatever living grass you have!
