Stand Out Effect with Paint.NET
Posted by Daniel Imre in Technology, tags: Paint.Net, Photo Editing
The stand out effect is a simple, easy, and fast way to give a picture new meaning. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to leave your subject in color, and set your background to Black and White. Thus giving you the “Stand Out” effect.
What You’ll Need
- A Windows PC running Paint.Net
- A Picture to Edit
Estimated Time
3 to 4 Minutes
Let’s Get Started
- Assuming you have Paint.Net opened already, open your image.
- Use the magic wand tool to select your subject (hold down Ctrl if selecting multiple items, and make sure to set the tolerance of the magic wand to an appropriate level).
- Once your subject is selected, press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard.
- Create a new layer and paste your image in using Ctrl+V.
- Now, switch back to your first layer (called Background) and press Ctrl+A to select all.
- Next, go to Adjustments>Black and White.
And You’re Done! Save your image, do what ever you want with it! Enjoy!
