Clean Laptop ScreensAt one point or another, you’ve probably noticed that your laptop’s screen is infested with dirty fingerprints and smudges. These can get just plain annoying (especially if you have a black desktop background) because your workspace doesn’t feel that clean. Well, to fix this, we ninjas have a special laptop screen-cleaning technique that has been passed on through many generations. Finally, this secret will be revealed to the public eye!

There are two methods to clean your laptop screen:

Method 1: Simply take a 100% cotton towel, or t-shirt and wipe off the screen. It’s as easy as that. However, this may not work for some screens, so if this isn’t doing the trick, follow the second method.

Method 2: This method is still relatively simple but requires a few household materials.

You’ll Need: Rubbing Alcohol (70% or better), distilled water, a spray bottle and 100% cotton cloth, or lint-free microfiber cloth.

  1. Mix the rubbing alcohol with distilled water, so there is about 50% of each in there.
  2. Pour your “Secret Solution” into a spray bottle.
  3. Spray the solution onto a 100% cotton cloth  or a lint-free microfiber cloth.
  4. Now wipe your screen with the cloth! (Be careful not to apply to much pressure to the screen, or you’ll leave streaks!)

Enjoy your glossy newly cleaned screen!

Important Note: It is important to never clean your laptop screen with just water, as this can leave mineral streaks which could potentially damage your display.

iPhone Text MessagingTelecom Companies are charging a ridiculous rate for SMS (text messages) especially when you already have an unlimited data plan.  All a text message is, is data- correct? So, unlimited data should cover it, please let me know if/why I am wrong.

Anyways, with iPhones new 2.0 firmware it’s easier then ever to install applications.  Under the app store there is a free AIM Application, just install this application and login to AIM.

From there you can create a buddy, as the screen name: just put the country code and phone number.  United States country code is +1 so an example screen name would be +12223334444.  You should be able to ‘IM’ that screenname 24/7 and it will send a text to the number and they can reply without your provider every knowing you sent a text!

Be aware that this will count against the individual you message if they do not have any kind of alotted (or unlimited) text messaging plan.

Safe Vacations!Have you ever had to leave your car at the airport for a long period of time? Sometimes if you’re leaving the country, you may have to leave it there for weeks! Here are a few tips on how to protect your car when traveling.

  1. Never leave anything of value in your car. Airport parking lots are like thief magnets. If somebody walks by and sees an iPhone sitting on the seat, they may do a smash and grab where they just smash your window open, take the wanted object, and run. If you must leave something in your car, make sure it’s in the trunk or a locked compartment.
  2. Try to find a good lot to park it in. Some airports will have their own parking lots with security. However if you don’t want to park it there, or if they just don’t have one, you can probably find paid parking structures around the area. When choosing one of these structures, make sure it has good security and keep your eyes out for glass on the ground. A lot of glass could mean that its a target for Smash and Grabs.
  3. Remove your starter fuse. If you look in your car’s manual, it should have a diagram on where your fuse box is and which fuse is for the ignition. If you take that fuse out when leaving your car, it will not start- even if it’s hot wired. (Just don’t loose it!)

Keep safety in mind, and have a safe vacation!

Hidden iPhone Button! This is nothing new but perhaps one of the things majority of people do not know, or at least I didn’t. On the right ear bud cable of the iPhone headphone, there is a small plastic piece, many of you know this is a microphone so you can talk on the phone with your headphones.

But, did you know that is also a button to control the built in iPod? If you push it once it will either pause or play, and if you push it twice it will skip to the next track.

So to sum it up your iPhone’s headphones will:

  • Produce sound (Duh!)
  • Record sound
  • Act as a remote to the iPod
  • Answer/End Calls

Enjoy!
