Google Results by DateEver want to filter old results out of your search? Well if you search for something and then add “&as_qdr=d” to the end of your URL you will get a new drop down that has within the past 24 hours, week, month… etc!

Now I am sure this is a very tedious process, but if you use Firefox here is a quick hack to add that search to your address bar!

By default, Firefox will use Googles “I’m Feeling Lucky” when you just type in a phrase in the address bar. If you didn’t know “I’m Feeling Lucky” just brings you to the very first result. We are going to go into Firefox’s configuration and change that to use a 24 hour search!

  1. Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar.
  2. Now there should be a page with a bunch of information, but at the top there should be a box to the left. It is titled “Filter”. Enter keyword.url in the box and hit Enter.
  3. There now should only be one item and not a huge list double click it and put this in the box that comes up and hit Enter. http://www.google.com/search?btnG=Google+Search&as_qdr=d&q=
  4. Type something random in your address bar and hit enter it should use Google to search for it and you should have the date drop-down!
