Old BreadHeard of the word oxidation? This is what happens when you leave food exposed to fresh air. Too much exposure causes your food to harden and become unappetizing. If you have ever left any items such as bread, biscuits, brownies, cookies or anything else perishable exposed to oxidation, here is a quick fix to salvage them! While most people would toss these items into the garbage, a little moisture will soften them right up!

The Solution!
Dampen a paper towel and wrap it around the item of choice and microwave it for 20-40 seconds.

Tip! This is also a great way to reheat biscuits, brownies, etc. if someone put them in the fridge or freezer!

  1. Kent says:

To soften a hard loaf of bread:

    1. Cut a piece of foil large enough to fold seals over loaf.
    2. Wet and wring out one paper towel - wring as much water as you can out of the towel
    3. Place the damp towel in the center of the foil then cover it with a piece of brown sack paper.
    4. Place loaf on top.
    5. Drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil on top of the loaf
    6. Pull up the foil one side at a time over the loaf and fold sides together to form a seal
    7. Put in a preheated 250 degree oven for about 20 minutes
    8. If still too hard, add ten minutes of bake time
