If you are like me, you never want to shut you computer off. Though this probably isn’t the most economical thing to do, we still do it anyways (don’t ask why). From prolonged use of a computer without shutting it off, the computer will eventually become sluggish and the memory usage will continue to climb up the ramp. Heres a quick fix, by creating a Shortcut icon to simply click on when ever your computer is slow to restore its memory usage.
- Right click on your Desktop and go to: New > Shortcut
- In the location box, type this in: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
- Click Next, and for the Shortcut name you call it “Clear Memory” or “Memory QuickFix”… what ever you want.
- When done, click Finish.
Next time your computer is running slow after prolonged use, exit all of your running applications and double click your “Clear Memory” icon on your Desktop.
