Aah, free stuff don’t we just love it? Well when it comes to the software(programs) you see in stores, there is a normally a free alternative! Here’s a list of some free computer software.

• OpenOffice.org - OpenOffice.org is basically like Microsoft Office, only not bubbly and much better. Write is like Word, Calc is like Accel, Impress is like PowerPoint. It is developed by Sun Microsystems.
• avast! 4 Home Edition(windows only) - a full-featured antivirus package designed exclusively for home users and non-commercial use.
• GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
• BurnOn CD/DVD(Windows Only) - a free CD& DVD burning and mastering application.
• VLC media player - VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, …) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
