MeeTimer curbs your online appetite
Posted by: java in Other, tags: Firefox, Firefox Friday
MeeTimer is a handy Firefox add-on that allows you to log your time on the web through selective categories. It will record your time spent on various websites by grouping them as procrastination, communication, search, work, and other groups that you can manually add. In addition, MeeTimer will help you stay away from those time-wasting sites by allowing you to enable a deterrent mode that will alert you every time you access a procrastination site.
- Visit the MeeTimer add-ons page.
- Click the green “Install Now” button.
- On the next page click “Accept and Install”.
- A small box will then appear with a countdown timer. Click “Install Now”. Once installed, MeeTimer will prompt you to restart Firefox. Click “Restart Firefox”.
- Once Firefox has been restarted, you can configure MeeTimer by going to: Tools > MeeTimer > Options (in the Menu bar)
- The configuration options are rather to-the-point, and if you would like to enable Deterrent mode, you can do so in the Options. You can also configure MeeTimer and organize your frequently visited websites in the bottom-right most corner of Firefox.
Add A Site To Group:
- Navigate to the site you wish to add.
- Right click your MeeTimer icon in bottom-right of Firefox.
- Go to Add [yourwebsitehere] to Group > *YOUR GROUP HERE*
(Or you can create a new group by clicking “Add to New Group”.
Happy Friday!
