Well it’s that time of the year again and I’m sure you are all planning on making new new years resolutions, so here are a few tips on picking the right new years resolution!
- If your making the new years resolution you made in a previous year and you failed at it, this time, make the commitment smaller than the last time. for example: last years resolution was to drink no pop. this years is to only drink half a glass a day.
- Make your resolution practical. don’t make a promise you cant keep, remember, think “realistic.” don’t say this “year I’m going to win the lottery.”
- If you think your resolution is too big, take some time to think it through. make the task smaller and set a date that you can stop for a break, and get right back on it.
- Make a resolution that really matters to you, don’t make it about what you think others want you to do, but what you really want to change.
- Make sure your resolution is right for you! make sure its something you can regularly make an effort on. like going to the gym.
- Make your resolution non-negotiable.
- If you want to keep your resolution then make a consequence if you mess up. like, if you drink that extra glass of pop last night, you get one less tomorrow.
- Put your resolution into writing.
- If you really don’t trust yourself with following out with your resolution, ask a friend to help keep you in line.
Remember, the key to making a good resolution is:
- Precontemplation: your not really sure on what you want to do….
- Contemplation: get specific in what you want to do.
- Preperation: start making changes, even if they are small babe steps at first
- Action: make sacrifices and don’t give in to the temptation of quiting.
- Maintenance: even after you meet your goal, don’t stop there, keep working on your resolution.
Well if you just can’t think of any here are a few resolutions we thought up:
- Lose weight (yes a very common one).
- Graduate Highschool/College (very easy and good one for any senior)
- Get a job/better job.
- Tell that special someone how you feel
- Stop wasting time on homework (Ok, we don’t suggest that one)

The Nintendo Wii is statistically one of the most popular consoles to-date. The most unique feature about the Wii is that it has an accelerometer which is the basis for most controls in game. With a little software and some basic computer knowledge, you can have fun with 3D (head tracking) on your Nintendo Wii too!

Do you have short cables laying around the house and wish to store them? But every time you try they just get tangled up and create a mess. Well for short cables try twist ties! They can be bought or you can just reuse the ones that come on with your bread! This works great with headphone/ear bud cables!
How to:
- Get yourself a twist tie
- Fold the cable in half until you deem it the appropriate length, generally until it becomes difficult to fold in half again.
- Now use the twist tie on the center of your cable! Just wrap it around and then twist it until it becomes tight.

If you are like me, you never want to shut you computer off. Though this probably isn’t the most economical thing to do, we still do it anyways (don’t ask why). From prolonged use of a computer without shutting it off, the computer will eventually become sluggish and the memory usage will continue to climb up the ramp. Heres a quick fix, by creating a Shortcut icon to simply click on when ever your computer is slow to restore its memory usage.
- Right click on your Desktop and go to: New > Shortcut
- In the location box, type this in: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
- Click Next, and for the Shortcut name you call it “Clear Memory” or “Memory QuickFix”… what ever you want.
- When done, click Finish.
Next time your computer is running slow after prolonged use, exit all of your running applications and double click your “Clear Memory” icon on your Desktop.

Have you ever experienced a day where you woke up and just couldn’t remember anything? It was an off day, and your not really used to these. Sometimes a quick memory jog like simple item recognition could restore your thoughts, but Scientists Andrew Parker and his colleagues at Manchester Metropolitan University in England have proven that just simple eye movement for 30 seconds could be the choice fix.
Recognition memory differs from recall memory in that people trying to recognize words tend to make false memory errors called source monitoring errors. This occurs when they recognize words but attribute their familiarity to the wrong source—they might think they just read the words, when they had actually heard them in a conversation earlier that day, for example.
