Everybody knows about the Ipod and its “Awesomeness”, but not as many people know of Microsoft’s Zune. Here are a couple tips you can use for setting up and playing music through the Zune software on your computer.

What you need:

  1. Zune Software, either from the CD or from this link: http://www.zune.net/en-us/meetzune/software.htm

Some Tips:

Adding folders of music to your library: Once you load up your Zune software, click on Options, located on the top, and then “Add Folder to Library”. Here you can add or delete any folder you want. When you add music to a folder you have shared with the Zune, the new content will automatically go to your library, ready to be synched to your Zune.

Media Sharing With Xbox 360: When you hook up your 360 to your computer it allows you to play music from your computer. In order to allow your music to be shared, you must do a few simple things. First, go to options on the top. Then click on library>Media Sharing. From here you can pick what kind of media you want to share. For this to work, make sure your xbox is connected to your computer (Preferably through Ethernet) so Zune detects your Xbox’s settings.

Videos With Zune: Besides playing music, the Zune can also play videos. Only problem is that Microsoft doesn’t have a video marketplace. You can bypass this problem if you have non protected video files on your computer. (I’m not going to say where to get these, but you probably have an idea) Then drag the video from its folder into the Zune library. From here the Zune will automaticall begin converting the video for playback on your Zune. If the conversion is successful, you can then synch to your zune

We all know Google as the powerful search engine, but did you know it can do so much more? They have a full list of programs here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/

Some of my favorite Google Programs:

Google Earth: The live streaming program which allows you to view places all over the world. This program works best with a broadband connection. http://earth.google.com/

Sketch Up: This program is one I just started using, and still learning. It allows you to build 3D models of houses, building’s and other things. It also allows you to place your saved models into google earth. http://sketchup.google.com/

Codes: They also have API and open source code. I am not very familiar with this, but it looks to be useful. If anyone has anything to share on this one, feel free. http://code.google.com/

Mobile phones: In case you can’t be without Google, you can get it on your mobile phone! You can use Google Maps, Text messages for restaurants etc, and Gmail.

All these and more can be found at the Google link I gave at the top!

P.S. Googles 9 Today!!!!!!!

We were down this morning for quite a bit of time, with an Account Suspended page. The issue was our host gaurentess 99.9% uptime and when Attack of the Show hammered our servers on August 30th we went down and were up for less then 99.9% and therefore did not have to pay for the month. However it seems as if our host switched management software and did not have record for the downtime and it came up as unpaid. So they suspended the page over me not paying when I should of had the month free. The issue is settled now I paid even thoe we were down but there is a guy looking into it and hopefully they will credit me for the next to billing periods. If they do you should expect another contest fairly soon!

I am not dissing my host, I love the crew over at Brius(survivedigg). I was upset for the ~8 hours of downtime but every time the server had gone down due to traffic, I saw someone working on it within 15 minutes. Even at midnight when we were on attack of the show, I was in contact with a Brius employee within 15 minutes via an Instant Messenger Protocol.

Again I apologize for the site being down but it was just a fluke thing, you should never see us down that long, but honestly if i hadn’t been playing Halo 3 so much I probably would have noticed sooner and could of gotten the issue resolved before any of you really noticed.

Thanks for sticking with us!
