Apple products are stunning. Their shape, form, and color contrast just amaze everyone. Unfortunately, their products will eventually, and occasionally bug up. They too will freeze, break, and sometimes explode (related to iPod struck by lighting).
Tomorrow, when your iPod freezes all you need to remember is menu and center. Hold the menu and center button for a few seconds until your screen turns blank. Your iPod will reset itself and you will be back up and running!

i was always told to turn hold on then back off and then hold those 2 buttons…
@ lucas:
You don’t really need to turn ‘Hold’ on then off again. ‘Hold’ is just something that doesn’t allow you to push any buttons. (like, say, suppose your iPod is in your pocket and you sit on it while it’s on. ‘Hold’ stops that button you might have sat on from activating.)
(But then again I could be wrong. I don’t have an iPod yet, might get one this weekend, so I’m only using reference from my Mp3 player.)
@ ‘How To’:
8D This trick really worked! I told a friend of mine about it and it worked great!

My ipod was frozen for an hour or more, and it works. Takes a little longer than a few seconds for the ipod t reset it self but make sure you are holding the menu and the center button for the probelm to be fixed.
my hold button seems to have broken. My iPod screen is frozen, so I have tried these tips and it has not worked. The hold ‘lock’ symbol is stuck on my screen, so I’m guessing the Hold is broken and this is why I cannot fix it and unfreeze it. Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix the hold button? Thank you!
jjfdklsa!
YES! I thought i would never be able to fix it. Since my hold button stopped working months ago, i figured the next time my ipod froze i would have to (finally) replace it.
took more like ten seconds though…
