Ramen is a well known chinese food that first made its way to Japan and Japanese cuisine, and has now migrated to the United States. Despite this foods nutrient facts (high in sodium), colleagues often eat it because it is cheap and easy to make. The ramen recipe mainly consists of dehydrated noodles and a seasoning packet. There are a variety of seasonings such as chicken, beef, oriental and shrimp (many more not listed). Ramen can be consumed raw, cooked, or as a part of a meal, such as “Ramen with Fresh Vegetables“.
Today, there are two main brands of ramen: Top Ramen (by Nissin) and Maruchan Ramen. Both brands cost around 10 cents per package. As far as we are concerned, the differences between the two are insignificant. Both brands are cooked the same way, and thats all we care about.
Steps on making Ramen:
- Get out a pot (aka sauce pan) and fill it with two (2) cups of water.
- Turn on the heat to your burner and wait till the water is boiling.
- Add the noodles and cook them for three (3) minutes. Stirring occasionally.
- Turn off the heat, remove the pot from the burner, and add in the contents of the seasoning package. Stir.
- Serve immediately for best result.
This takes a total of 6 minutes to make (5 if your fast), so go now and make some ramen!

Here’s what I do:
1. Take a small pot and fill it half way with water, just enough to submerge the man square.
2. Turn on the stove and begin to heat
3. While it is heating to a boil i take the ramen and cut the top off, then I take out the seasoning (chicken is the best) and cut a top portion off, exposing the contents of both packages. This saves time, and therefore less waiting.
4. Once the water comes to a boil, add the ramen and come back in 2 minutes and stir until the ramen square is broken up into the many noodles (I use my fork that i will be using for less cleanup).
5. Turn off the heat when this is accomplished and add the seasoning, sprickle onto the top of ramen in pot. Stir in the seasoning with the same fork, again saving cleanup time.
6. After colling for 30 seconds so I do not burn my mouth, i begin the eat the noodles a little at a time until it cools more and i can eat more at a time.
7. Lather, rinse, repeat.
This made me so hungry, Im going to go make some ramen now.
Don’t forget to add delicious extras to it like boiled eggs and little swirly fish tasting things and shrimp if you have any. mmmm tasty.
Swirly fish tasting things? Like gold fish? Haha, i am so lazy that when ever I make ramen I just make ramen… rarely do i add things to it because after all, the calories are the killer. Best ill go for is ramen and some fresh vegetables.
i dont believe you have a tutorial for placing dried noodles in a saucepan of boiling water - is this irony?
This is exactly what I expected to find out after reading the title How to: Make Ramen. Thanks for informative article
RAMEN!RAMEN!RAMEN! Have any of you actually been to a ramen shop before? Yum yum good stuff. I went to one in Tokyo during a anime festival! I now know what I want to do in life. I want to open up my own ramen shop! Real ramen is nothing like that stuff you get at the store! Real ramen can actually be quite nutritious, one big bowl of ramen any flavor you could possibly imagine accompanied witth pork cutlet, bamboo shoots, boiled eggs, with a side of Redbean Bun, and a nice cup of warm sake to go with it!!! I reck’n … sorry about the slang … you could even have ramen as desert, think about it! A nice big bowl of ramen flavored with ginger root and cinammon, along with vanilla sap!!! GET’S MY MOUTH WATTERING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!!
♪♪♪ I thought they were going to post a recipe for Ramen like how it is showed on Naruto!!! You know with all the extra add-ons. But all you did was rewrite the instructions the package of ramen comes with!!! LMAO…..So I said to myself that this was probably done for the people who can’t read and/or follow directions but if they can’t get it from the package( Which comes with illustrations!) what makes you think they are going to look for this website and find out how to make Ramen???? …………You guys MUST be joking!!!!!!!♪♪♪
Too funny…………
and for the record I LOVE RAMEN!!!!!!ä♪▓→»╒»☺☻☺☻☻☺
lol im so lazy i just get a big bowl, put two cups of water in there, throw the whole block, and put the “mix” in the microwave for 5 minutes
RAMEN IS PART OF A BALANCED NINJA-Y DIET
Wait… your sposed to cook the brick ramen?…. oops…. i generally just throw the seasoning on it and munch away….
i dont use the flavor or water i eat it like a cracker
Dude, just put the brick in a big bowl, add water, toss in the microwave for 3 minutes, then take out and let cool for 1, add seasoning, grab your chopsticks and get to eatin!
take some cheez-its and crush them up really good like and put them in there…it’s really good with chicken ramen
that is actually a really good idea! i think im going to have to try it the next time i make ramen!
I always boil it, cook it as usual, then add the water along with the ramen into a bowl. Add some hot sauce and the seasoning, then drink the juice after your done. mm.
umm yea, i got a water boiiler so yea, i jus toss the brick in a bowl, pour the boiling/hot water in the bowl and let it sit for a bit, a lot of times i drain the water after the noodles are cooked an add some kinda sauce w/e i happen to have already, or yea i jus open up the pack and eat it like a really messy cracker (as posted up there ^ )
Wow did you come up with this all on your own? I can’t help the feeling that I’ve read it somewhere else…
I personally like to cook my seasoning into my noodles since i usually drain the water. So when I get the noodles somewhat softened up I add the seasoning packet and I also add some Johny’s seasoning salt and those pepper seeds that people put on their pizza and cook them in with everything to the noodles pick up the flavor.
[...] one comes from one of our posters on the forum, and i figured we have How To Make Ramen so why not add this one too Big thanks to Nathan.Explosion for this [...]
MMMM……RAMEN GOOD!!!!!!!
Here’s what I do:
I would cook it normally, then drain it.
Then I fire up a wok and stir fry it right there.
Then I would eat it.
Maybe add some egg in it and some little swirly fish thingys that sometimes appear in them. Or you could simply do what desaku said and fry it after with soy sauce and tabasco. mmm
ive never had the actual ramen. only the instant ones. ive been searchin the web for like an hour tryin to find out what those swirly thingys were for this thing at school. this is like the only site ive found that actually says lol
were doin an advertizement thing and the product is Ramen-A-La-Dib (dib is a character from invader zim)
its got little chunks of dib in every bite XD
were having people dress up as ramen and dib, and were gonna trap in in a giant ramen cup.
this is the most fun ive had on a school project lol
By swirly thing, do you mean the naruto?
Oh god this is making me want ramen so bad, i think im gonna go make some ramen.
To Kiba. The swirly things are called naruto. They’re like a fish sausage with a pink spiral inside and you cut it into slices and put it in ramen. Itadakimasu!!!
