Do you find yourself using a websites search function such as wikipedia or imdb? Or perhaps typing lengthy URLs. Well the firefox team has just the right thing for you to save you time, bandwidth, and keystrokes!
For Searches:
- Right click on the websites search box.
- Click Add Keyword for this Search
- Enter the name which can be anything you want. This will be so when you view all your keywords you know what each one does.
- Now the keyword, Enter what you like this will be what you type to do the search function For wikipedia i use wp, so if i type wp digg it will pull up the wikipedia page for digg!
For URLS:
- Click Bookmarks > New Bookmark
- Change the name of the bookmark to what you want
- Enter the url where it says location and put a %s where you will specify the URL
- Enter the keyword of your choice just like before
- Now just use the keyword as you would for a search!
- An example i use is with google.com/%s as the url, g for the keyword and i would type:
- g reader to go view googles rss reader
- g mail to go to my email
- g news tocheck out google news
