So you want to learn how to give your motorola v325i mp3 support? Well, ill tell you how! Its not an mp3 player, however you will be able to give your phone mp3 playback support for ringtones! This is by far the easiest, quickest, most simple hack you could ever attempt. As long as you don’t put something out of the ordinary in a field, you are safe. I think its time to begin.
What you need:
- P2kCommander v330 (and know how to use it)
- Motorola v325i
- USB to Cellphone cable (PSP cable)
The simplicity of this tutorial is presumed that you know how to use the software and how to get your computer hooked up and functioning with P2kcommander.
How to:
- Open up P2kcommander and browse to your cell phone.
- Navigate into /a/brew/mod/arcmedia/
- Download the arcconfig.ini file to your desktop (or somewhere accessible).
- Open up your copied arcconfig.ini file in Notepad or an easy to use text editor.
- Locate where it says “[Audio Settings]”
- You will see four filters listed below it. Audio, MMS, EMS, and GenPick.
- At the end of the Audio, MMS, and GenPick lines, add the following: “;*.mp3:audio/mp3″ (without quotes).
- Example: Audio Filters=*.mid:audio/mid;*.qcp:audio/qcp;*.aac:audio/aac;*.mp3:audio/mp3 (not exact, it was shortened to fit the width of this page).
- Save your arcconfig.ini file and upload it back to your phone into: /a/brew/mod/arcmedia/ and you are set!
There are an extensive amount of features you can enable your phone to do with this small yet powerful file. It controls the brains of your phone, giving it some kind of direction on what it can and cant do. So please be careful and mod safe!

I tried with my v325i but dont see my cell phone on the list. I have installed the motorola usb drivers. Tut seems simple enough but for some reason cant figure this out. Any Help???
Nm I got motorola ultimate tools.. It came with rsd and some other stuff. Got it to see my phone and have tested soem new wallpaper. Next will be ring tones.

Mackie; To add the ring tones to your cell phone you must use P2K Commander and navigate into /a/shared/media (or audio).
I have the v325i and Ive searched over and over for tuts on how to mod my phone. Ive done a couple things things but Ive d/l p2kcommander 4.9c w/seem editing but it seems to crash my pc. Other versions dont have SEEM edit and from what I read to do deep modding I need to be able to do that. I did get SEEM CHANGER to see my phone and edit but I had a couple questions to make sure Im doing it right. Any ppl done this and can help me?
Plus is there a better app to use?
PLus x2 I keep not beings able to upload very large files. Ive read some where else that If you turn off the phone and transfer it over it will work but they keep failing.

Update.. I retried the TURN OFF PHONE and transfer method and got it on the phone. BUT after I did the .ini change (as posted) and put mp3 in ..shared/audio folder where all other rings are. But it dont show on list. Any help ?

I was able to get the mp3 on the pnone, and they show up in the “get it now” menu, but if i set them as ringtones, they don’t play. They do not appear in the list if I try to set a ringtone in through Contacts. Perhaps there is another system file that is a list that needs edited?
To get mp3 to play I had to do a SEEM EDIT and ENABLE MPT. Once i did the edit I set my phone as v323M and that opened all of MPT. I did the file transfer (to to ringtone folder) to phone of mp3 and they showed and played fine. Heres a couple links for those wanting to read up.
Next step for me is to figure out how to get Java Games on the phone. If you got some help I will try because my attempts have failed.

To get the mp3 to show up as an available ringtone you have to delete the MyToneDB.db file and then reset the phone it will make a new one and now the ringtone will show up.
Thanks guys! I’ve successfully used your comments and instructions to upload a ringtone (using P2kCommander) to my Verizon Moto V325i and apply it as a ringtone (w/o silence!).
