Google talk logoThis may not be the deal of the century, but heck; its another one of those things you just cant help but to share with everybody. If you use the Gtalk (Google Talk) client (the program), you know that with it you can make calls to buddies. How about calling people on their telephone with Google Talk? You’ve all heard of Skype and those other pieces of software; so heres another… but through Google Talk.

A company known as Splinter.net now is offering services as a gateway between your Gtalk and Telephones.

This is how it works:

  1. Add the user ’service@splinter.net’ to your buddy list.
  2. Send them a message to call. Example: “call 12127773456″
  3. They call you on Gtalk, and then they connect your call!

Easy to use, however it isn’t free. But its another good alternative to know!

usb batteries from USBCELLMany people have been thinking of alternative ways to keep their cameras in power without the cost of batteries. Good alternatives we have seen so far are the Energizer rechargeable batteries with an mAh rating of 2000 - 2500. A key point for you to remember when battery shopping is that the higher the mAh, the more capacity of energy the battery can store. In the long run, the battery can survive more use.

It has been shown within the last year that we are not yet at the wits of technology. Still, innovations are being made to the simplest everyday items, such as shirts and batteries. USBCELL technology, part of Moxia Energy states that over 15 million batteries are thrown away each year. In effort for clean energy, they have designed the USBCELL USB Batteries. No longer will you have to carry around big, bulky chargers that plug into a wall outlet, just plug and go!

The USBCELL batteries come in various sizes; common ones include AA, AAA, 9V, and D. If you are ever in need of a charge, simply plug and go! These batteries suck energy from everything! Charge with your laptop, desktop, monitor, usb hub, or console (Xbox 360, Playstation). If you are ever stuck without one of these sources, use any approved NiMH battery charger and plug it into a wall outlet.

Save yourself some money, and help out the environment. For a cost of $19.50 USD, you will never have to buy another set of disposable batteries again!

This may be one ‘cheesy’ way of making garlic bread, but it tastes rather good and if you are in the mood for a quick snack it can be assembled in minutes.

Ingredients:Make Garlic Bread

  • a small roll
  • butter
  • garlic powder

Steps:

  1. Put some butter on the roll.
  2. Get your garlic powder and sprinkle some onto the buttered roll. (Not too much because it is strong! You don’t want curious neighbors!)
  3. A. Microwave for 15 seconds on HIGH. (Quick and Soft)
    OR
    B. Put it in the oven @ 375 for 5 minutes. (Crisp and warm)

There you have it! From the kitchen of Java to your computer screen, eat well and enjoy!

MAJOR UPDATE: I just wrote a hacked up python script to give you the password instantly if it is found in gdataonline’s databse (it probably is). Find that here. It took me quite a while to write, and I’m just learning python, so don’t be too harsh about it.
