After endless hacking by a dedicated group at awkwardtv, the AppleTV has yielded
to their efforts. A user Turbo posted a method to enable USB support. After the group
had tried for literally 6 days straight, patching kernels, adding kext’s, massaging files and
other zane the USB works. USB keyboard and mice!

lpp has tested it and Ozy is going to verify the wiki.

First and foremost, I know everyone likes music. Its much like a flavor… some like it sweet, others like it sour.

Im not a professional as far as making comparisons go, but I am good at finding interesting things. Music, some call it a way of life. A fully interactive flash based player with the works; containing hundreds of types of music… you can listen to what ever you want, with complete user preference.

Several of us over in the Awkward TV IRC(l0rdr0ck, myself, and others) have had our Mod’d Apple TV’s played with over night(SSH/VNC disabled), our guess is apple has started to fight back the mod’d Apple TV’s. This is a warning to all of you to block your Apple TV from the internet by going into your routers settings and denying it internet access!

This does mean Apple may have the power to update your Apple TV, without you knowing it!

You should:

• Change the password on your apple tv
• Deny internet access to it.
• Failure to do either could result in a breach in your network or a broken Apple TV’

We have no proof of apple doing this but i know of 4 cases in our IRC, and my startup script to disable the firewall got its permissions stripped!

Update: We got confirmation it was not apple doing it and either a repair script, war driving, or another reason. We apologize for the scare!

Google has released its Document and Spreadsheet service for some time now, to do all my personal documents and spreadsheets. Google documents also stores everything on their own servers using the unlimited web space in your gmail account! This means you can write your documents up wherever there is a internet connection! For instance you can start writing up your report at class, go home after finish it! But wait theirs more!! You can also invite other gmail users to look at your document or even edit it! A good use of this is for school with “group projects” you can all access your group’s document whenever you need it!

How to access and share your files

• Go into your gmail account and in the very top left there is a link that says” Docs & Spreadsheets” Just click that.
• Open up or create the document you want to share
• Click Collaborate its on the upper right
• Now type the emails of who you want to invite
  • “collaborators” will be able to edit
  • “Viewers” cannot edit

This guide will help you with the following:

• Disabling the Firewall
• Enabling SSH & VNC
• Playing xvid/divx encoded stuff
• Stopping Watchdog
• Running Applications(Firefox, Centerstage, etc)
