This article straight out of the newspaper, because it was rather a mind opener for those who have not realized some of the concequences caused by excessive emissions into our atmosphere, I decided to share it with everybody.

It sucks, it rocks, it sucks, it rocks. What is up with this commotion and all of the arguing about how this operating system performs. Windows… its the prefix of atleast four operating systems, and has not changed since the start. Were talking about the stacking of operating systems, and adding on more and more crap to your computer. Ok, so I may not get anywhere within the first 6 sentences of this “review” but Windows Vista has the soul of Windows 98. EAT MY SHOE!

Perhaps the power predicted in these monsters (PS3) was unheard-of prior to its release.

Accordingly, IBM and Vivendi Games are teaming up to find out how little of the PS3’s procesor power is used with its current games. From Kotaku, an online blog that focuses on video and computer game discssion states that: “Current games use 20 percent of PS3’s power.” I would find that those of you who are going with cheaper solutions like the Wii, may end up having to do some sort of upgrade in the future because of its statistics and performance. The PS3’s reign will last longer than that of the Wii and that is a fact because of what they are going to do to get it to use more power, and look better.

On a quick note for today…

“A recent article from the Toronto Star, “the ICE idea”, is catching on and it is a very simple, yet important method of contact for you or a loved one in case of an emergency. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is program the number of a contact person or persons and store the name as “ICE”. The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn’t know which numbers to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name to file “next of kin” under. Following a disaster in London The East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a national “In case of Emergency (ICE)” campaign.

The idea is that you store the word “ICE ” in your mobile phone address book, and with it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted “In Case of Emergency “. In an emergency situation, Emergency Services personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number programmed under “ICE”.”

For a quick tidbit… to have more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.

Well at the current time my teeth are chattering, its 9 AM and the weather is -10 degrees fahrenheit outside. So this is a quickie for all of you (and this is quite a common problem) that end up putting a CD / DVD into your computer, you need to eather put a new disk in (ex. Multi-disc installers), or just take the disc out but it wont come out… this is how we do it in quick steps.

  1. Open up a terminal (blank).
  2. Type su, then your root user password.
  3. Now type: umount -l /device/location (example: umount -l /media/cdrom)
  4. Finally, finish it with the eject command. Just type: eject (and press enter).

Bam! Your disc is out, put in another one or finish what ever you were doing. Its a common question and error, so being a Tutorial Ninja, I decided to clear up that mess.
