Finding MP3’s / Albums / Music (with Google)

Free mp3’s! After learning about exact terms using quotation marks, now is the deal to get things free. If you are really cheap you can make your own compilation and give it to someone for Christmas.
Finding mp3’s, music albums, and much more on Google is easier than you think it is. In fact, when ever someone asks me where do I get my music from, and I reply “Google” they look at me with a startled face, and then ask how. Following that question is something along the lines of “is it legal?”. Well, in my opinion it is (legal) because we are only browsing open domains that are indexed by google. So to get to the point, Google is only making our lives a tad bit easier giving us the eligibility to search.
I cant say you will find the 1960’s song you have been dying to find, but you still have a chance. On occasion, it can get to be like “finding the needle in the haystack” to find that mp3 or album you’ve been craving.
There are 2 methods (that I know) of finding music on Google. Here they are:
- “parent directory ” AR/AL/SONG -.mp3 -.wav -.wma
- ?intitle:index.of? mp3 AR/AL/SONG
note: AR means Artist. AL means Album. If not searching for an album using method 1 (refer to example 1-1).
Knowing of your curiousity, this is how to use them:
- “parent directory ” MP3 greenday -.mp3 -.wav -.wma
“parent directory ” american idiot -.mp3 -.wav -.wma - ?intitle:index.of? mp3 kelly clarkson
With a lucky modification of the above, you can make it even easier to find the music or album your looking for.
For now, its the third day of Google here at Tutorial Ninjas, so you better put that happy face on and start downloading music!
*This tutorial should be read and applied to ALL of the 7 days of Google. I will not repeat the useful search terms!*

Or you can just use http://www.singingfish.com as an alternative to this or a P2P program.
That sounds like a good alternative! thanks for the suggestion
I don’t really understands the mechanics. I through that -.mp3 -.wav -.wma would explude those from the search? And what is those quotations marks doing at ?intitle:index.of?
It’s a great post nonetheless.
